EcoSense is a socio-startup (a startup engaged in the social sector) that focuses on providing incentive environmental campaigns that everyone can participate in in order to increase public awareness of environmental issues.The creation of this mobile and web application (EcoSense) is based on the relationship between the environment and humans that are interdependent and influence one another.
It is undeniable that society has a significant impact on the current state of the environment.
Seeing this, EcoSense is here to bridge environmental activists with the wider community in order to increase awareness about environmental health issues andassist them in adopting a green lifestyle.Research from NASA (2022) reports that more than 95% of our activities over the last 50 years have increased the temperature of our planet.
If we dont take corrective action, the temperature will rise another 11 degrees by the endthe 21st century (University of Minnesota, 2013).
Moreover, in our country Indonesia, waste generated from big cities has reached 4 million tons per year (Envihsa UI, 2020).
However, we have seen some positive actions during the pandemic, such as the trend of planting trees as a positive idea for society (Safitra & Anwar, 2021).
This is what drives us to raise awareness for environmental issues, by providing a platform for people to share about environmental campaigns andenvironmental care lifestyle.With the tagline "Save Earth, Save Lives!", EcoSense hopes to become a place for people to jointly protect the Earth by doing small positive things that everyone can do, and ultimately improve the quality of our lives together.
